Foothills Theatre is excited to offer new courses beginning Saturday, January 26, 2008*.

Theatre Basics (for children aged 8-12)

Saturdays, 12:00am-2:00pm starting January 26, 2008 through March 29th, 2008

Designed as both an introductory and intermediate course to encourage creativity and explore the magic of theatre. Using various exercises and theatre games, the students will be exposed to a wide range of useful acting skills such as vocal production, speech clarity, memorization, and basic movement and dance. This course is suitable for beginners and for those who need to continue learning the true building blocks of being in the theater.

Tuition: $350/$325

Audition Technique (for students aged 13-18)

Saturdays, 10:00pm-12:00pm starting January 26, 2008 through March 29th, 2008

A unique opportunity to develop auditioning skills! Students will leave the course with monologues and songs ready to present for school, college, community and professional theatre auditions. Towards the end of the class, students will participate in a mock audition for theatre professionals who will provide valuable feedback to the students regarding their auditions.

Tuition: $400/$375

Scene Study for Adults (THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELLED)

Mondays or Tuesdays, 7:00pm-9:00pm

This class is open to adults of all skill levels. Students will focus on scene study analysis and character development through partnered scene work and exploration of voice, movement and text.

Tuition: $350/$325

Classes must have a minimum enrollment of five students to take place.

Admission is open to all on a first-come, first-serve basis.It is our wish that every student feel they are getting time and attention paid them toward learning their craft. If class demand exceeds a number our instructors feel will inhibit the students’ growth, we will place a limit on the number of students per class.

Classes meet for 10 sessions. Second price reflects a $25 discount if tuition is paid in full 7 days in advance of the start of a class. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in a class.

Foothills Theatre School is proud to provide high quality training for both children and adults who are looking to immerse themselves in a new training program, explore new interests, or improve in social interaction and public speaking. Foothills tries to offer a varied course listing from term to term so that students have the opportunity to delve into different approaches to become well rounded performers and individuals.

• All classes are taught by working professional actor/educators.
• Early registration is suggested. A $50 deposit for school year classes and a $100 deposit for summer classes is required to hold a place. The deposit is refundable if requested 14 days prior to the start of the class or if the class is cancelled. Only tuition credit is available after the 14 day prior deadline.
