The Foothills Theatre School is a “process” oriented program. We focus on developing the creative talents of each individual by teaching the skills and techniques all performers must possess in order to be a valuable member of an ensemble. We are not in the business of creating “stars”. We will introduce our students to the many and varied techniques used to train actors around the world, provide them with methods for developing their instrument and give them experience in the procedures of the professional theatre. The knowledge gained here will be of benefit at whatever level of theatre the student chooses to pursue. Many of the exercises explored will also help to encourage and build social interaction skills that translate to daily life as well as professional careers outside of the theatre. We encourage students to enter with an open mind, experience each phase of training, and hold onto what works for them.
